AN ENCHANTING MEETING BETWEEN TWO VIRTUOSOS: LIUTAURAS ŽILAITIS AND ŠPELA PUŠNIK TO EXCLUSIVELY PERFORM GUILLAUME MARCENAC’S NEW SONATA “IMPRESSIONS MARINES,” ALONGSIDE TIMELESS WORKS OF TCHAIKOVSKY AND RACHMANINOFF

The classical music scene is poised to welcome a magical moment with the exceptional fusion of two accomplished artists: cellist Liutauras Žilaitis and pianist Špela Pušnik. Hailing from Lithuania and Slovenia respectively, their collaboration transcends musical borders and promises an unforgettable sonic experience.

Liutauras Žilaitis, a virtuoso cellist from Lithuania, brings a unique touch to the music stage. A mathematics graduate, he chose to pursue his passion for the cello, earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Active as a soloist and chamber musician, Liutauras is also an integral member of Ensemble ZOEF, exploring a wide range of repertoires for diverse audiences. Simultaneously, he shares his expertise as a cello teacher in various educational programs.

Špela Pušnik, the Slovenian pianist, began her musical training in Velenje before continuing her studies at the music gymnasium. She later graduated in Instrumental und Gesangspädagogik in Klagenfurt, Austria, before dedicating herself to the study of classical piano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Špela currently works as a piano teacher for children and adults in The Hague and, since 2022, at the ConAnima Music Academy. She also stands out as a piano accompanist for various choirs in the Netherlands.

In addition to their exclusive performance of the new sonata “Impressions Marines” by French composer Guillaume Marcenac, the program will feature timeless works by classical giants Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. This unique combination promises to deliver a concert experience that blends contemporary brilliance with the enduring beauty of classical masterpieces.
